The necessity of losing Oneself...

Is it necessary to lose oneself before we can really FIND ourself???

Is pain a necessary precursor to growth? Do we get so accustomed to our comfort zones that we need a stimulus, usually discomforting, to prompt us to work towards change? And, if this is true, then is it true that we all need to be non conformist in order to evolve and grow? Do we all need to get out, get down and then get up again? Is it that each of us is a phoenix and we need to periodically burn down as we are to be reborn in new, resplendent glory?

Is the parable of ‘The Prodigal Son’ a blue print for all of us? Is Hesse’s ‘Siddhartha’ what life is all about- to become the Kamaswamys- the very people we had never thought we would be- before we can rise above the quagmire that is this world to reach the peaks of spiritual evolution? Is it indeed true that to get to the dawn, we have to go through the dark night? Is it true that only out of chaos is a star born, that only if there is chaos (a la Big Bang) do we get a cosmos?
